Joanna
I am a Jersey girl, born and bred! Aside from three years in Hong Kong when I was little, my family has always lived in the Garden State. It gets a bad rap (especially from that awful show that shall not be named) but I love it. Where I live an hour drive in any direction will take me to the beach, or the mountains, or New York or Philadelphia.
I am a big sports fan, thanks to being the only girl on one side of the family (and the only girl on the other until I was 14!) I am a die-hard fan of the Yankees and the NY Giants. I love watching baseball, football and tennis (although I haven't felt strongly about any player since Pete Sampras retired.)
I went to Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. Spellcheck always wants to change "Hanover" to "Hangover", LOL! Very apropos. I have a BA in Music, and the highlight of my four years was a Foreign Study Program in Music in London. I am a confirmed Anglophile and would love to live in England someday.
Currently I am completing a Masters degree in Musicology at Rutgers University. I'll always be grateful to Rutgers because that is where I met James! I also work in arts education at a regional performing arts center, and also freelance as a pianist and musical director.
In addition to watching sports, I love reading, skiing, cooking, and drinking wine. I also love to travel and look forward to many adventures with James!

James
James grew up in Apollo, PA, not far from Pittsburgh. He is a die-hard Steelers fan! If the Steelers and the Giants ever play each other in the Super Bowl, one of us is going to have to leave town for a while. LOL.
He is an accomplished bass trombonist, with a BM in Music Education from Youngstown State University, and MM and DMA degrees in trombone performance from Rutgers. James also spent three years on the road with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. He especially enjoyed the yearly tour to Japan! He currently freelances in the NY/NJ area and is working on his first jazz album.
In addition to music, James is an avid reader and enjoys traveling, cooking, wine and craft beers, and most recently, homebrewing.
James and I met at Rutgers, in our Introduction to Research class. He says that on the first day of class, he cracked a joke and I laughed, which made him sit up and take notice! We became friends, and in April 2007 we became a couple! We have been engaged since Valentine's Day 2010. :-)

Guinness
This is our precious furbaby, Guinness! James adopted him from a shelter in May 2008. We wanted to adopt an older cat since they have a harder time finding forever homes. He is absolutely the love of our lives, and a mama's boy. In this picture he is curled up on the Snuggie that he gave me for Christmas. :-)
Guinness loves napping, eating, catnip, chirping a the birds through the sliding door, and treats. He is the sweetest boy in the world!
